A Houston native, James Wakeland grew up in Maplewood, attended St. Thomas’ Episcopal School in Meyerland, and graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown.
James began his legal career while in college and spent five years in the legal field before attending law school, including work at a plaintiff-side firm and as a trial paralegal for a criminal defense attorney practicing in Harris and Fort Bend Counties. That experience gave him a practical understanding of litigation from client intake through trial.
Outside of the office, James enjoys cooking, Houston sports, traveling to the mountains and the beach, and spending time with family and friends. He is proud to have returned home to Houston to build his legal practice.
